Meet Gabriel

Your Member for Menzies

Gabriel is the first Labor Member for Menzies. He was elected in May 2025.

Gabriel grew up in Doncaster and continues to reside in the area with his wife and young children, who attend local schools.

His father is a Chinese Singaporean immigrant and his mother is from Regional Victoria.

He is a passionate supporter of the North Melbourne Football Club and enjoys jogging along local trails, bushwalking with his kids and discovering new restaurants – as well as participating in the occasional local Park Run.

Gabriel is driven by his strong commitment to social justice to build a more prosperous and inclusive Australia where no one is left behind.  He has worked as a lawyer and public servant, primarily in the areas of migrant and refugee settlement and aged care. He has volunteered with community legal centres, the not-for-profit sector and in his local community throughout his life. 

Honoured to be elected to represent the people of Menzies, Gabriel is focused on working hard to be an accessible and strong voice for his local community.
